Alisa Wilson

CMgr FCMI Mst (Cantab) BA (Hons)

As the CEO of Guardian Safeguarding, Alisa brings vast experience from her time as a Senior Police Leader.  She has worked extensively as a Senior Detective in Child Protection, Safeguarding, Domestic Abuse, Adults at Risk and Risk and Threat.  Alisa is also an experienced independent multi-disciplinary chair and a published academic author in the specialist area of child exploitation. With experience as an associate lecturer at the Open University and as a guest lecturer at Edge Hill University, Alisa ensures the work Guardian Safeguarding does is evidence based but can also be applied practically.

 

Alisa has supported numerous community groups, charities and social enterprises through community engagement work and she has a unique insight and understanding of the problems and challenges faced by the third sector. Alisa is also the founder of Neurokin Family, a not-for-profit community group which supports parents and carers of neurodivergent children and young people on the Fylde Coast of Lancashire. 

 

Alisa’s passion and desire to make a difference and keep people safe, well and supported, shines through every aspect of Guardian Safeguarding.

Jonathan Holmes

MSc, BA (Hons) -
Guardian Associate Consultant

Jon Holmes has decades of experience in managing serious safeguarding risk and is passionate about supporting practitioners to deliver positive safeguarding outcomes for vulnerable persons. A former senior police detective, Jon led operational responses across multiple areas including homicide, child abuse, child sexual and criminal exploitation, domestic abuse, vulnerable adult abuse, and honour-based abuse. Jon has deep expertise and skill at all levels of safeguarding practice, ranging from leading complex safeguarding investigations and case reviews, public protection stakeholder management, to implementing systems for successful multi-agency working to support the identification and management of safeguarding risk. This included leading the successful implementation of Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hubs (MASH) across three local authority areas.

 

Jon has been a member of the national Police Child Death Working Group since 2015 and sits on the executive committee of the Association of Child Death Review Professionals, the national network for statutory Child Death Overview Panels. Jon is a visiting lecturer at Liverpool John Moores University’s Centre for Advanced Policing and is academically published in his specialist research area of investigative decision-making. In his current role as a Maternity Investigator for the CQC’s Maternity & Newborn Safety Investigations Programme, Jon remains actively involved in safeguarding practice, working closely with safeguarding professionals from a breadth of agencies, whilst identifying opportunities to improve outcomes for newborns.

 

Jon brings further expertise in Safeguarding within the NHS and Health to Guardian Safeguarding.

Tim McDermott

Dip (HE) -
Guardian Associate Consultant

Tim has extensive expertise in safeguarding, investigation and crisis management gained during his career as a Senior Police Detective and hostage negotiator.  Tim worked in specialist areas of intelligence sharing and assessment, risk management, child exploitation and criminal investigation.  Tim has also worked as Head of Safeguarding at a North West Football Club and training Academy bringing further expertise to Guardian Safeguarding in the specialist area of safeguarding in sport. Tim also works as an anti-corruption consultant with the English Cricket Board.

 

Tim provides bespoke training to businesses and organisations in safeguarding and crisis intervention. 

Justin Srivastava

Guardian Associate Consultant

Justin Srivastava is a highly accomplished former senior police leader with 30 years of experience.  Since 2016, Justin worked for the National Police Chiefs Council and the College of Policing focusing on public health approaches and staff wellbeing. In 2018, he co-authored and implemented the national Police and Health Consensus which developed a framework for addressing vulnerability across the policing and health landscapes.

He is a globally recognised expert in trauma-informed organisational development, and a leader in promoting public health approaches to vulnerability prevention. Throughout his career, Justin has worked tirelessly to address violence, promote wellbeing, and champion early intervention strategies. He is a skilled communicator, author, and international speaker, sought after for his expertise in creating safer and healthier communities. 

 

Justin has a proven track record of working across multi-agency systems, building trusted relationships, and influencing at the highest levels. He is passionate about applying his expertise to help organisations build more resilient trauma informed communities.
